World Environment Day

05 Jun 2020

The Secretariat for Investment, Spatial Planning and Sustainable Development has traditionally marked the World Environment Day, through the procurement and planting of a pine seedling (Pinus pinea L.) and two seedlings of woody gravillea (Grevillea robusta A.Cunn.). The pine tree is planted in the part of the Great City Park near the school, where the adult pine trees are otherwise represented. Wooden gravilla seedlings were planted in the park on Dara Petkovića Square, which has been significantly revitalized in the past period. The seedlings are about ten years old, about 2.5-4 m high, and these species in botanical and physiological sense correspond to planting in that area. The seedlings were planted by “Komunalno” d.o.o. Tivat, and a group of children from JPU “Bambi” joined the planting of pine trees in the Big City Park.

June 5 is celebrated around the world as the Day of Environmental Protection, during which the Conference on Environmental Protection was held in Stockholm in 1972, which brought together 113 countries, which established a joint statement on the need for international cooperation in order to protect the environment. . Numerous activities are launched in the world on that day, which promote the protection and improvement of the environment.
