Representatives of the Municipality of Tivat today visited the Humanitarian Society of the Blind and Civil War Disabled – Tivat, at the invitation of the members of the association, and on the occasion of the financial assistance that the local administration decided at the end of last year for the purchase of special aids for the needs of members of this population. The procedure for the procurement of equipment, with a total value of 1,113.00 euros, in the form of 5 carbonate white sticks, a speaking program and a computer with a special configuration, is underway.<\/p>\n
The president of the association, Rajka \u010cavor, thanked the president of the municipality of Tivat for the understanding of the local administration for their needs and support, which, as she pointed out, motivates them to continue with their activities. \u010cavor emphasized that in the previous period, the Municipality helped the work of the association through a competition for the allocation of funds to NGOs. “Through the approved programs, we acquired special devices for reading texts and literature, a smartphone and a special application for direct contact with the volunteers who help us, as well as GPRS devices for navigation.” With the support of the Municipality, we also made a social contribution by organizing humanitarian concerts, the last of which was held last summer. We want to be useful members of the community and contribute to building a civil society that provides equal opportunities to everyone.”<\/p>\n
The president of the municipality, \u017deljko Komnenovi\u0107, pointed out that the Humanitarian Society of the Blind and Civil War Disabled is one of the most valuable associations in Tivat, and deserves every kind of support from the local self-government. “We are always glad when we can help, at least in the procurement of aids that make everyday life easier. We will continue to provide support through further improvement of public infrastructure and adaptation of public institutions and companies to persons with disabilities. We thank Mrs. \u010cavor for her work so far and I encourage her for further engagements in which she will always have our support.”<\/p>\n
In 2022, the Municipality of Tivat implemented several projects for persons with disabilities, including the adaptation of the official website for visually impaired and blind persons. As part of the investment works, the Sports Hall facility was adapted for people with disabilities by marking parking spaces and installing ramps at the rear entrances, which enabled access to the small hall and the gym, while in the large hall there were designated places for people with disabilities in the stands. Furniture for physical education for children with special needs was procured, and a disabled swing for children was recently installed at the children’s playground on Seljanov. 8 persons with disabilities are employed in the Municipality of Tivat, which fulfills the norm prescribed by the Law on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
