Tivat last night hosted a rich cultural and entertainment programme organized ahead of the European Union\u2013Western Balkans Summit, bringing together numerous citizens, visitors and representatives of international delegations on the town\u2019s waterfront promenade, Pine.<\/p>\n
Organized by the European House, with the support of the Municipality of Tivat, the Tivat Tourist Organization and local partners, the evening featured a promotional and exhibition fair showcasing local producers who are beneficiaries of the IPARD programme, the \u201cProtect It So It Protects You\u201d campaign, future chefs from the \u201cMladost\u201d Secondary Mixed School, and the city\u2019s Tourist Organization.<\/p>\n
Visitors had the opportunity to enjoy performances by Tivat\u2019s vocal groups \u201cBellezza\u201d and \u201cJadran\u201d, the Tivat Music and Educational Society, the \u201cBoka\u201d Cultural and Artistic Society, and the orchestra of the Tivat Music School, all of whom presented the authentic spirit of the Bay of Kotor through music, tradition and folklore.<\/p>\n
The Ambassador of the European Union to Montenegro, Johan Sattler<\/strong>, stated that the event at Pine represented an important and symbolic part of the programme accompanying the Summit.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are here on the beautiful Pine waterfront in Tivat. This is a relaxed, very pleasant, but also very important part of the programme of the European Union\u2013Western Balkans Summit. I would like to thank the Mayor of the Municipality of Tivat, \u017deljko Komnenovi\u0107, for his hospitality. The setting is truly wonderful, and this is a perfect addition to a major event being held in Montenegro for the first time. It is the largest gathering of international leaders ever organized in your country, and I am especially pleased that part of the programme is taking place right here in Tivat,\u201d Sattler said.<\/p>\n The Mayor of the Municipality of Tivat, \u017deljko Komnenovi\u0107<\/strong>, emphasized that the programme at Pine presents the finest image of the town at a moment when Montenegro is hosting one of the most significant international gatherings in its history.<\/p>\n \u201cI hope that the people of Tivat and our guests are enjoying Pine, which represents the welcoming face of Tivat and sends a strong message in the context of the most significant historical and political gathering ever held in Montenegro. I am pleased that Tivat\u2019s vocal groups, folklore ensembles, town band and Music School have performed for the audience, with the support of the European House, the \u2018Mladost\u2019 Secondary School and other participants. This is truly a beautiful image of our town, and I believe that Summit guests, members of the diplomatic corps, journalists and all visitors will recognize that Tivat and Montenegro have much to offer the European family of nations,\u201d Komnenovi\u0107 said.<\/p>\n European House representative Manja Babi\u0107<\/strong> stressed that the aim was to showcase both the tangible results of European programmes and the region\u2019s rich local traditions.<\/p>\n \u201cThrough the fair, we wanted to present the \u2018Protect It So It Protects You\u2019 campaign, as well as various European Union programmes being implemented in Montenegro. With the support of the Tivat Tourist Organization, the Municipality of Tivat and numerous partners, visitors had the opportunity to meet IPARD beneficiaries, discover traditional cuisine presented by students of the Tivat Secondary School, and explore many other activities. We wanted to demonstrate how European programmes contribute to the development of local communities while also introducing our guests to Montenegro\u2019s rich tradition and culture,\u201d Babi\u0107 said.<\/p>\n The evening programme unfolded in a festive atmosphere, reaffirming Tivat\u2019s role as a town open to international cooperation and the promotion of European values.
