Ambassador of China Visits Tivat

The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Montenegro, H.E. Chen Xiufeng, visited Tivat and met with the President of the Municipality, Željko Komnenović, recognizing the importance of this city as one of the most developed in Montenegro.

Ambassador Chen shared his impressions of Montenegro with the Mayor, clearly expressing his intention to continue strengthening friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries. Cooperation in the field of transport infrastructure development was one of the topics discussed, particularly considering that the Municipality of Tivat is planning the construction of a boulevard through the city, as a continuation of the section from Jaz to Tivat, which is currently under construction.

Environmental protection with a focus on ecology, the application of smart technologies in everyday life, culture, and education are just some of the areas in which cooperation could be achieved. The Municipality of Tivat has previously established friendly relations with Shanghai’s Jiading District, and the revitalization of this cooperation is in the city’s interest, Komnenović emphasized.

For the upcoming period, visits to several cultural institutions in Tivat have been agreed upon, along with intensified communication aimed at establishing cooperation between Tivat, Montenegro, and the People’s Republic of China
