According to the analysis of the transparency of the work of local government bodies conducted by the Center for Democratic Transition (CDT), the Municipality of Tivat is among the three most transparent local governments in Montenegro. The fulfillment index is 60 percent. Local governments in the region otherwise meet only a third of the criteria.

According to the analysis of the transparency of the work of local government bodies conducted by the NGO MANS, based on data from municipal websites, the Municipality of Tivat previously showed a high degree of proactivity with more than three quarters of published basic information about its work.

Information on the work of the Municipality is published by all Montenegrin media, and the Municipality has successfully created its own communication channels such as a website, official profiles on social networks Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and a channel on YouTube. Recently, citizens can read all the important information on the official Viber Community of the Municipality of Tivat.

The local public broadcaster is Radio Tivat. Radio Dux also broadcasts its program from Tivat. Information about the events in Tivat and Boka can also be read on the BokaNews portal. Montenegrin dailies also correspond in Tivat.

Radio Tivat:

Radio Tivat was founded on November 21, 1982. The first director and editor-in-chief was Mašo Čekić. It started modestly, with a three-hour program. Today, Radio Tivat broadcasts 24 hours a day on two frequencies – UKT 88.5 megahertz and 90.8 megahertz. Radio Tivat has its own website at www.radiotivat.com.
