The Civil Aviation Agency (ACV) and the Municipality of Tivat, through the Municipal Police, will jointly act in the prevention and suppression of the illegal use of drones at the local level.

This is stipulated by the Cooperation Agreement in the field of combating the illegal use of unmanned aircraft, which was signed today at the Agency by ACV Director Ivan Šćekić and the President of the Municipality of Tivat, Željko Komnenović.

Due to its proximity to the international airport, Tivat is the first municipality with which the Agency has established this type of cooperation, aimed at strengthening oversight in this area at the local level.

“Through this Agreement, we confirm our shared commitment to improving the safety and security of air traffic through cooperation at the local level. Our goal is the responsible and safe use of drones in order to preserve safe skies and protect citizens and property,” stated Šćekić and Komnenović jointly.

The document defines cooperation through the timely exchange of information and coordinated field activities aimed at protecting air traffic, citizens, and property, as well as preventing illegal activities.

“The Municipal Police will undertake measures within its jurisdiction in cases of suspected illegal drone use, including establishing the identity of individuals and verifying data related to drone operators and pilots, and, when necessary, providing support to the Agency in supervision and control,” the Agreement’s signatories announced.

The Agency, they concluded, will carry out activities within its jurisdiction and will inform the Municipality – Municipal Police about zones where drone use is prohibited, restricted, or permitted under specific conditions, as well as provide relevant data on registered drone operators and drone pilots, in accordance with the law.
