Walk for Tivat – European Mobility Week, September 16–22
This year, the Municipality of Tivat is once again participating in European Mobility Week (September 16–22), marking the event through participation in the European Steps Challenge for the first time. The aim of the challenge is to encourage cities across Europe to motivate their citizens to walk more – not only for health benefits but also as a way to show support for their city.
Participation is simple and open to everyone via the app Walk15, users can contribute their daily steps to the city’s total score. The goal is to engage as many people as possible to walk for their city and help it become one of the most active participants in Europe.
Under the slogan “Walk for Tivat”, the Secretariat for Traffic and Housing-Communal Affairs invites citizens, organizations, and all members of the local community to join this activity during the specified period, and whenever possible, to choose walking as the healthiest form of movement. “Registration is already open and consists of three simple steps: download the free Walk15 app, join the challenge within the app, and Steps Challenge izazovu and select the city – Tivat. Step counting automatically runs from September 16 to 22, and within the app, participants can easily track their steps at any time, as well as see their contribution to the city’s total score,” the municipal secretariat stated.
The activity, under the patronage of the European Union, is organized by EIT Urban Mobility in cooperation with Walk15. The most active cities will be announced at the end of Mobility Week.
