Voluntary Blood Donation Drive on Sunday at Gradiošnica

The Municipality of Tivat and the Red Cross Tivat, in cooperation with the Institute for Blood Transfusion of Montenegro, announce the next voluntary blood donation drive, which will be held at the Gradiošnica Local Community premises on Sunday, June 8, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Following a series of drives with great participation in Lastva, Seljanovo, Krtoli, and the city center, residents of the Gradiošnica community are invited to join this humanitarian activity and donate blood, emphasized Jelena Šćekić, Secretary for Local Administration of the Municipality of Tivat. “In this way, we support the Institute in improving its blood reserves, make donation drives accessible to citizens from all neighborhoods, and strengthen cooperation between local communities and the Red Cross.”
“The procedure of donating blood takes about 15 to 20 minutes, and the medical team on-site will confirm whether you meet the health requirements to donate,” stated Nevena Božović, Secretary of the Red Cross Tivat, highlighting the importance of blood donation drives during the summer period, when the need for blood supplies increases.
Sandwiches and refreshments will be provided for donors.
Eligibility criteria:
Any healthy adult aged 18–65 can donate.
Women may donate up to 3 times a year, men up to 4 times a year.
Donors must not be ill, have no lung or heart diseases, and not be on chronic or acute therapy.
Donors must not have been tattooed in the past six months and must meet certain requirements for blood pressure, body weight, and body temperature.
