Tivat will once again join the global “Earth Hour” initiative, scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM, which in Montenegro is promoted and supported by the NVO “Green Home” from Podgorica.
The Municipality of Tivat invites citizens to take part in the initiative by turning off the lights in their homes for one hour during the specified period, thereby highlighting the importance of collective action in combating climate change and preserving nature and its values.
During this period, the lights in the Municipal building will be switched off, and in cooperation with the public utility company “Komunalno” LLC, part of the public lighting system in the municipality will also be turned off, specifically in II Dalmatinska Street and Luke Tomanovića Street.
“Earth Hour” is a global campaign against climate change launched by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in Sydney in 2007. Since then, a large number of individuals, organizations, and cities worldwide have joined the initiative, which serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting our planet.
