The Minister of Maritime Affairs at a Working Meeting at the Municipality of Tivat
The Minister of Maritime Affairs, Filip Radulović, visited the Municipality of Tivat, where he held a working meeting with the Mayor of Tivat, Željko Komnenović, and his associates. Topics discussed included the establishment of anchorages in the Tivat aquatorium, possibilities for introducing order and enhanced control mechanisms in this area, the establishment of a marina for municipal berths in Seljanovo, and the smooth operation of electric-powered passenger ship lines.
During the meeting, Minister Radulović emphasized the importance of the maritime sector and investments in maritime infrastructure. "We must work together on key infrastructure projects and improving the maritime sector, which will contribute to the further economic development of the municipality and the entire country of Montenegro," Radulović stated.
The mayor informed the minister and his team that amendments to the Program for Temporary Structures in the Coastal Zone are currently being drafted. These amendments will more precisely define the treatment of anchorages in the immediate vicinity of the island of Sveti Marko in the Tivat aquatorium. The Municipality of Tivat has allocated funds for the establishment of these anchorages and will undertake the necessary actions to make them operational in the near future.
"Our goal is to introduce order in the aquatorium and generate benefits from the fact that thousands of vessels reside in the bay during certain times of the year. The establishment of anchorages must be accompanied by the introduction of adequate services, such as black water tank emptying, which is of great importance not only economically but also ecologically," Komnenović emphasized during the meeting. He expressed the Municipality's willingness to contribute to this pioneering endeavor.
Deputy Mayor Jovan Brinić and Tivat Municipality Manager Ivona Petrović discussed specific legal and technical steps with ministry representatives that need to be taken to establish anchorages in compliance with current laws, regulations, and guidelines.
In addition to Minister Radulović, the meeting with Tivat’s municipal leaders was attended by State Secretary Pavle Tripković, Acting Secretary of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs Andrija Ražnatović, and Advisor at the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Captain Vladan Radonjić.
Through communication with all relevant authorities and public enterprises, the Tivat local administration will continue its efforts to implement this service.
