Municipal Police Intensifies Activities Ahead of the Summit

Support Arrives in Tivat from Colleagues in Budva, Bar and Herceg Novi

The Municipal Police Service of the Municipality of Tivat has intensified its field activities ahead of the EU–Western Balkans Summit, which will take place in Tivat on 5 June. To support their colleagues in Tivat, 33 municipal police officers from the municipalities of Budva, Bar and Herceg Novi have joined the operation.

The Mayor of the Municipality of Tivat, Željko Komnenović, thanked the coastal municipalities for their willingness to assist in maintaining municipal order during one of the most significant diplomatic events ever held in Montenegro. Today, he met with all municipal police officers who will be responsible for ensuring municipal order throughout the event.

“The eyes of the entire country are on us. The task is highly demanding, and your support, work and expertise are of great importance in ensuring that this important event proceeds smoothly.”

“The city is ready,” Komnenović stated.

The Municipality of Budva has provided 21 officers, 10 fully equipped vehicles, one police van and two motorcycles. The municipalities of Bar and Herceg Novi have each provided six officers and two vehicles to support the activities of the Municipal Police Service in Tivat.

“In coordination with the Tivat Security Department, we have developed an operational plan. We will have a larger number of active mobile patrols and three motorcycle officers. Our primary focus will be on maintaining municipal order and preventing illegal parking. We expect a large number of citizens and visitors, and I am confident that we will successfully meet the challenge,” said Gvozden Balšić, Head of the Municipal Police Service of the Municipality of Tivat
