New lighting and irrigation system in the Main City Park
Following the Management Plan for this natural monument several infrastructure projects have recently been implemented in the Main City Park in Tivat. The total value of these investments amounted to nearly 400,000 euros.
The public lighting was reconstructed and installed. Seventy-four decorative public lighting poles, 4 meters high with LED lamps, were installed. The work also included all accompanying geodetic, construction, and electrical assembly work. Special attention was given to energy efficiency through the use of modern LED technology, says Milica Manojlović, the Secretary for Spatial Planning in the Municipality of Tivat. "When selecting the lighting fixtures, spectrum, and direction of illumination, care was taken to ensure they have as little negative impact as possible. For this capital project, 205,000€ was allocated from the budget of the Municipality of Tivat."
The work was carried out by the company “Cema” from Podgorica. The contract also included the procurement and installation of electrical cables to which the lighting fixtures that will illuminate certain landmarks in the park will be connected, which is part of a separate project.
The implementation of the automatic irrigation system project is also nearing completion. In an area of 19,070 square meters, 4,700 meters of irrigation pipes have been installed. The corresponding shafts, water meters, protective cabinets, and PVC protective pipes have been installed. The work is being carried out by the company “Indel Engineering,” and the total value of the work is 81,628€.
“The Municipality of Tivat was selected by the Environmental Protection Fund, which subsidized this project with about 49,000€ through a Public Call for the allocation of non-refundable funds. The introduction of this irrigation system determines the optimal irrigation regime, achieving efficiency in water consumption, which is particularly important during the summer when water consumption is higher, and the yield of water sources is lower,” says Manojlović.
The concrete wall that was located on the edge of the main walking path, next to the FK “Arsenal” stadium, has been removed, and a fence modeled on the existing one has been installed. Investments in the largest planned green area in the municipality of Tivat continue. In addition to regular park maintenance, for which the local government allocated 60,000€ in this year’s budget, the tender documentation for the procurement of new seedlings, with a total value of 50,000€, is being prepared. By the end of the year, the construction of an indoor sports field in the southern part of the park, estimated at 200,000€, is also planned.
