Reception for firefighters and rescuers who participated in the rescue operation in Turkey
The President of Tivat Municipality Željko Komnenović today hosted a reception for members of the Tivat Protection Service, Robertin Maslovar and Marko Živić, who as part of the National Team recently visited Turkey to help the injured and find the missing after the devastating earthquake. The formal reception was held on the occasion of March 1 - the International Day of Civil Protection and the Day of Protection and Rescue in Montenegro.
Komnenović thanked the rescuers for their humanity and courage. "In very difficult moments, risking your lives, you helped others in a great tragedy." I must say that we did not care about your departure, although we were all aware of the importance, and the most important thing is that you returned home alive and well." He said that this event once again showed that the working conditions of the Protection Service are a priority issue. city, which must be resolved as soon as possible.
In the conversation, Živić and Maslovar told their experiences, describing work in extremely difficult conditions and in very risky places. Together with members of the National Team, they rescued two people from the ruins. They pointed out that in the symbolic capacity of assistance provided by Montenegro, their team did much more than expected.
During the reception, Komnenović presented the Tivat firefighters-rescuers with monetary awards, in the amount of 500 euros each, as a symbolic expression of support and gratitude for their courage and sacrifice.
