The city’s New Year’s decoration
Leading up to the New Year holidays, the Municipality of Tivat, Tourist Organization of Tivat, and the Municipal Company Tivat are conducting a city decoration campaign with the aim of having all decorations and lighting installations set up by the upcoming weekend.
This year, 11 new illuminated decorations, 30 decorative elements for poles, a tree with roots, and a large number of decorative ribbons for palm trees and other trees have been ordered. From the previous period, 24 decorative elements have been reused, while five elements have been taken out of use due to significant damage. A Coordination Team was formed for this activity, consisting of representatives from the local administration, Tourist Organization of Tivat, Municipal Company Tivat, restaurateurs, and industry professionals. The team conducted an inventory and analysis of existing decorations, as well as the procurement of new ones within the available budget.
A total of €26,482 was spent on the purchase of new decorative elements. The company "Luštica Development" donated €10,000 for this purpose. The company "Nobelwood group" allocated €7,890, while the Municipality of Tivat contributed €8,592.
Teams from the Municipal Company are on-site and installing decorations at numerous locations in the city, with support from members of the Decoration Coordination Team, the Civil Protection and Rescue Service, Tourist Organization of Tivat, Parking Service Tivat, and members of the Youth Team. The tourist camp "Bova" provided assistance to the campaign by supplying a boat that is part of one of the decorations. The dynamics of decorating the city will depend largely on weather conditions.
Citizens are kindly asked to treat the decorations with care, with a reminder that illuminated decorations are connected to electricity and pose a danger if children climb or move them. Additionally, mishandling can result in damage to the decorations, leading to a diminishing collection of decorative objects each year. Business owners, as well as owners of hospitality and retail establishments, are invited to join the city decoration campaign to ensure the city is ready for the upcoming holidays.
