The fastest runner at this year’s 5th edition of the Boka Marathon was Saša Miljković from Serbia, who completed the full marathon distance on the Tivat–Kotor course in 02:29:28. In the women’s category, the title of the fastest runner for the third consecutive year went to Nataša Šustić (CRO), finishing with a time of 02:48:34. Second and third places in the men’s marathon were claimed by Ante Živković (CRO) and Žarko Jovanović (BIH), while Miljana Ristić (MKD) and Elena Sokolova (RUS) placed second and third in the women’s category.

“I’m happy to have won. It’s wonderful to run along the sea,” said Miljković immediately after the race. Nataša Šustić once again shared with journalists that she enjoys the Bay of Kotor and especially looks forward each year to the atmosphere at the finish line in Kotor Old Town.

The fastest runner in this year’s Coca-Cola HBC Half Marathon was Nemanja Cerovac (SRB), completing the course in 01:07:18. His compatriot Nikola Mijailović finished second, while Tirron Mamusha (RKS) took third place. In the women’s half marathon, Gresa Bakraci (RKS) achieved the fastest time of 01:16:37, followed by Nevena Jovanović (SRB) and Mina Kosanović (SRB).

6,500 Participants from 52 Countries

The fifth Boka Marathon gathered 6,500 runners from 52 countries this year. A total of 4,500 participants registered for the marathon and half marathon, with 3,500 runners competing in the half marathon distance alone. The official start at Tivat’s Pine waterfront lasted a full seven minutes due to the large number of participants.

“Our goal each year is to grow sustainably by 10–15%. In terms of participant numbers and organizational quality, we exceeded our own expectations. Across all categories, we had almost twice as many participants compared to last year. Registration closed three months before the race,” said race director Kristijan Sindik.
“Next year, the Boka Marathon will become a qualifying race for the World Championship held as part of one of the seven Abbott World Marathon Majors, which I believe is the best confirmation of our work.”

There was also great interest in the races held on the first day of the event: the Boka Mile, the Supplement Store Fun Run (5 km), and the SIRO10K race, which attracted nearly 2,000 participants. For the first time, 700 children, mostly primary school students, took part in the Boka Mile, competing in four age categories.

Before the start at Pine, participants and guests were welcomed by Olivera Mišković Vidojević, Secretary of the Secretariat for Social Affairs.
“Enjoy today’s beautiful weather on the most beautiful course in the world! I wish you all personal records, and to the organizers that everything goes as smoothly as we have come to expect. See you again next year!” she said on behalf of the Municipality of Tivat, the general sponsor of the event.

As is tradition, members of the Tivat Music and Educational Society greeted marathon and half-marathon runners with live music just before the start.
