"In 20 days, the Volunteer Team of the Municipality of Tivat helped and facilitated the daily functioning of more than 250 users throughout the city. In the same period, more than 300 calls were received ", said the coordinator of the Volunteer Team, Dubravka Koparan.
She reminded that, in accordance with the prescribed measures of the Government of Montenegro, the Municipality of Tivat formed the first volunteer team on March 20, 2020, as well as the Call Center for support to risk groups of the population. The volunteer team consists of employees in the local self-government and members of the municipal organization of the Red Cross Tivat.
"The action aims to keep people at risk for coronavirus in their homes and to get food in an efficient and fast way," Koparan added.
Persons over the age of 65, chronically patient, people with reduced mobility, pregnant women, visually impaired people and other risk categories have the right to deliver food through the Call Center service.
"The call center is available 24 hours a day while our volunteers are on the field every day from 9 am to 7 pm," Koparan added.
According to her, the Call Center receives various calls, from service calls to requests for humanitarian aid, calls for services for the purchase and delivery of food and medicine, payment of bills and the like, as well as calls for psychosocial support.
"Psychosocial support is provided on a volunteer basis by an expert, graduate psychologist Dušan Radoman, who is available to citizens every day from 4 pm to 6 pm through a call from the Call Center. Psychosocial support is very important in such crisis situations. We need to talk about mental health and preserve it. It is normal for such situations to cause a dose of confusion, stress, fear. I hereby invite the citizens to call our Call Center on duty phone numbers without hesitation for this type of help, "Koparan pointed out.
Call center numbers are 069 351 251 and 032 671 318
