The Municipality of Tivat signed a Memorandum of Participation in the second phase of the ROMACTED project
The Vice President of the Municipality of Tivat, Goran Božović, together with the representatives of seven other Montenegrin municipalities, signed a Memorandum of Participation in the second phase of the ROMACTED project. This joint project of the European Union and the Council of Europe was presented at today's conference in Podgorica.
The implementation of the project is planned for the period from 2021 to 2024 in the Capital Podgorica and the municipalities of Bar, Berane, Bijelo Polje, Herceg Novi, Nikšić, Tivat and Ulcinj. The goals of the project are aimed at improving local democracy, accountability, inclusiveness and response to Roma citizens. The two new components, compared to the first phase implemented from 2017 to 2020, will focus on mitigating the effects of the Covid-19 virus in Roma communities and responsible budgeting for Roma.
Božović expressed satisfaction that the Municipality of Tivat participates in the second phase of the ROMACTED project and pointed out that the Municipality of Tivat is recognized as a local government that actively participates in solving problems in social inclusion of RE population, especially in education, bearing in mind that integration into the wider social context. He also emphasized that in the Municipality of Tivat, the formation of a working group for the development of the Local Action Plan for social inclusion of the RE population for the period 2022-2026 is underway.
