The Day of the Municipality, November 21, was celebrated in Tivat yesterday, through a series of traditional ceremonies. After the ceremonial parade through the city, the President of the Municipal Assembly, in front of the Municipal Building, handed over the state flag to the detachment of the Boka Navy, which then traditionally played a round on the Pina waterfront.

A solemn session was also held, and its live broadcast was broadcast for the first time from the official YouTube channel of the Municipality. Among the guests present were representatives of state institutions, the Army of Montenegro, members of the diplomatic corps, presidents of Montenegrin municipalities, some members of the local parliament, as well as directors of municipal companies and institutions. The solemn session was opened by the President of the Municipal Assembly.

"Tivat is a city that has always seen its diversity as an advantage. I want and want to believe that the hard-learned lessons from the past have been mastered and that they have taught us to be better people, free from prejudice, primitivism and delusions, "said Dr. Andrija Petkovic in his speech and said that Tivat must be stronger than ever to hear the anti-fascist cry, the cry for freedom brought by the Orient Battalion. "Free Tivat. A city of people who think and speak freely. That is what the aspiration of the current government is. I believe that in the future this will be a city of free people."

The local administration of the Municipality of Tivat has done a great job in the past year and gave Tivat and the people of Tivat a reason for celebration and pride, said Vice President Vladimir Arsić at the solemn session, emphasizing that the current government managed to consolidate the financial situation. The current debt of 4 million euros has been repaid and is now over 5 million euros in the budget.

"The results were given by all the savings we implemented, but we showed the same success on the revenue side: real estate tax was collected in the amount of 98% in early November, while the fee for utility equipment was collected in the amount of 4.11 million euros or 206% . "

He also said that despite the extremely difficult circumstances of the epidemic on a global scale, a successful tourist season was achieved with over 90,000 arrivals and 750,000 overnight stays.

"The year behind us was certainly not and could not be a year of investments and large infrastructure projects. However, we have done everything we can to make it the end of this year and 2022. By the end of 2021, we expect the realization of projects worth 2 million euros."

Arsic said that the municipality will continue with significant investments next year. "In the road infrastructure through the continuation of works on roads for which we have prepared project documentation, asphalting and rehabilitation of numerous local roads. Investments will be made in coastal promenades - continuation of construction of Belani and lungo mare Krasici, "We will insist that the state be our partner in the construction and reconstruction of schools and kindergartens, which is a priority in one of the few Montenegrin cities that continues to record a positive birth rate." He also announced large investments in sports infrastructure of 400,000 euros. In the coming period, the municipality will pay special attention to the issue of waste management, but also to more efficient and purposeful use of space, as the greatest value it has.

The program of the ceremonial session was organized by the orchestra of students of the Music School, klapa "Jadran" and the Children's Association of Tivat, and the premiere of a twelve-minute film about Tivat produced by Radio Television Herceg Novi.
