Awards for the best athletes in Tivat

The Mayor of Tivat, Željko Komnenović, and the director of Radio Tivat, Tamara Vučinović, presented awards to the best athletes and sports teams of Tivat for the year 2023, as chosen by the Sports Journalists Section and Radio Tivat.

In the category of the best sports team, recognition was awarded to the Sailing Club 'Delfin.' The best athlete was declared sailor Nikola Golubović from the Sailing Club 'Delfin.' The sports journalists of Radio Tivat chose handball player Andrijana Ivanović from the Women's Handball Club 'Tivat' as the most successful sportswoman. In the category of the most promising young athlete under the age of 15, the award went to young footballer Petar Ražnatović from FC 'Arsenal.' The most promising young female athlete of Tivat is basketball player Maša Praščević from the club 'Sea Stars.'

"This year has been the most successful so far when it comes to sports in Tivat. Choosing the best was a challenging task for the sports section of Radio Tivat. Congratulations to the awardees. I also congratulate the people working in sports clubs, who are more than deserving of the success of Tivat athletes. I announce that support for the development of Tivat sports will be intensified with an emphasis on strengthening sports infrastructure," said the Mayor of Tivat, Željko Komnenović, adding that it will be difficult to repeat the success and European performances of 2023, but everyone looks forward to new historic results.

"It wasn't easy to choose the best, but I hope we succeeded, without diminishing the successes of those who missed out on the award. I can say that this year the selection was the most challenging so far, but that speaks in favor of the fact that sports in Tivat is developing, that we have an increasing number of clubs and an increasing number of children involved in sports, which is the most important thing of all," said Tamara Vučinović, the director of Radio Tivat, on the occasion of the award ceremony. She thanked the Municipality of Tivat for its support and added, "The action has been going on for 27 years, and behind it is great enthusiasm and love for sports. Radio Tivat will always be with Tivat athletes."

The winners received cash prizes of 1,000 euros each, and a cocktail was organized for everyone. The award ceremony was attended by members of the jury, representatives of the awarded clubs, Vice Mayor Jovan Brinić, and the Secretary for Social Activities of the Municipality of Tivat, Olivera Mišković Vidojević.
