A request for pet owners to respect the Decision on the conditions and manner of keeping pets
The Municipality of Tivat and the Secretariat for Inspection and Communal Affairs would like to remind citizens, primarily pet owners, of the provisions of the Municipal Decision on the conditions and manner of keeping pets and the manner of dealing with abandoned and lost animals.
Dogs can be taken for a walk on a leash that matches the size and strength of the dog. Dog breeds that are defined as "dangerous" can be walked by an adult on a leash no longer than 1.5 m and with a protective basket. Dogs are not allowed at public and other areas, excluding children's and sports playgrounds, landscaped flower beds and lawns, markets, cemeteries, promenades.
"We would like to especially remind pet owners of the provision that they are obliged to clean the public area that is contaminated with their pet waste," said the Secretariat for Inspection and Communal Supervision. "We are witnessing ugly pictures from our promenades, where rubbish can be found, which unscrupulous pet owners did not pick up. Such behavior will be sanctioned, and fines range from 50 to 500 euros. "
Secretariat officials will conduct daily monitoring of compliance with these measures.
