Call for Olive Growers to Register Olive Trees

19 Jan 2026

Based on the amendments to the Law on Olive Growing and Olive Oil (“Official Gazette of Montenegro”, Nos. 45/14, 39/16, 84/24, and 92/25), local governments are now required to maintain a Register of Olive Trees.

To establish an accurate and up-to-date record, the Municipality of Tivat notifies all owners and users of olive groves that they are obliged to register their olive trees in the Register of Olive Trees.

Application forms are available on the official website of the Municipality of Tivat as well as at the competent authority for agricultural affairs. Upon registration, each olive tree will be recorded and assigned a unique identification number, which must be permanently and visibly displayed on the tree.

Registration in the Register is an important step for improving the record of olive plantations, preserving olive-growing traditions, and planning support and development measures for olive growing in the municipality.

All olive growers are encouraged to respond promptly to this call and register their olive trees.

For additional information, interested parties can contact the competent municipal authority for agriculture, the Secretariat for Economy, or reach out via phone at 032 661 347 or email privreda@opstinativat.me
