Celebrating March 1 – the Day of Protection and Rescue in Montenegro and the International Day of Civil Protection

With a series of educational and informative events, the Municipality of Tivat, in cooperation with local and state institutions and partners, will celebrate March 1st this year - the International Day of Civil Protection and the Day of Protection and Rescue in Montenegro. The primary goal of the planned activities is to raise public awareness of the dangers of major accidents and disasters, as well as the role of civil protection in prevention and education. In addition to the educational program, as part of the celebration of this date, a reception will be organized in the Municipality of Tivat for members of the Tivat Protection Service, who participated in the search and rescue operations from the ruins in Turkey, which was recently hit by a devastating earthquake, as part of the Montenegrin national team. The International Day of Civil Protection was proclaimed by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1990, while the Day of Protection and Rescue has been celebrated in Montenegro since 2013.
