-VII session of Municipal Assembly Tivat-

Željko Komnenović was elected as the President of the Tivat Municipality at today's seventh session of the Tivat Municipality Assembly. 17 councilors of the ruling NP-DCG-DSS-PES-DSS-KL-TA-BF coalition voted for his election, while the other councilors did not vote.

After taking the oath, Komnenović thanked the councilors for their election and pointed out that Tivat has experienced a significant transformation, and that the real challenges are yet to come. "To govern in a city where for 30 years was an unassailable fortress of the DPS and its supporters, to get into a position where, upon taking office, the payment of wages to employees, with debtors who came to the office every day, due to the blockade of the parliament, economic and covid crisis, we are in a situation where we have a record budget, speaks for itself. The majority of citizens are satisfied with this solution, unfortunately there will always be divisions, but I will not contribute to them."

Komnenović pointed out that he received the first congratulation from a Catholic priest even before the election itself, and said that it is necessary to have a vision, and that Tivat cannot and must not go back. "It is important that these funds, which we painstakingly invested in the city coffers, are finally spent, and I agree with that, but in such a way that all the citizens of Tivat are satisfied. I expect that with the formation of the current government, we will start investment projects. Cooperation with state authorities must be better, but it does not depend on us. I hope that the cooperation with the investors will be even better and we must not miss these opportunities" - said Komnenović. He said that Tivat has experienced a major transformation and that he will personally advocate that the differences between capital projects and city infrastructure be reduced.

At today's session of the SO Tivat, the minutes from the previous two sessions, as well as the work programs for the year 2023 of the Tivat Tourist Organization, the Tivat Bus Station and the Day Center for Children and Youth with Developmental Disabilities - Tivat, were adopted by a majority of votes. Before the new election, the President of the Municipality, Željko Komnenović, was previously notified of the termination of his mandate due to his resignation. Terminations of mandate were also recorded for Vice Presidents Vladimir Arsić, who resigned from that position, and Goran Božović, whose mandate ended by force of law.
