The establishment of an airline between Nis and Tivat would be the first step in economic and tourist cooperation between the two cities, it was concluded in a conversation between the mayor of Nis Dragana Sotirovski and the president of the municipality of Tivat Zeljko Komnenovic and their associates. The Tivat delegation, led by the mayor, is on a two-day visit to Nis, with the aim of establishing closer cooperation between these cities, for mutual benefit. The delegation of the Municipality of Tivat also includes the vice president of the municipality Vladimir Arsić, the director of TO Tivat Danica Banjević, and the director of Tivat Airport Radovan Marić.
"We are looking forward to cooperation and we have agreed to organize the promotion of Tivat in Nis and to present the economic, cultural, and tourist potentials of Nis for guests from Montenegro," said Mayor Sotirovski. At today's meeting, it was announced that the planes of the Serbian national company "Air Serbia" will fly from Nis to Tivat twice a week from June 12 this year.
Komnenovic emphasized that the establishment of air connection between Nis and Tivat is an opportunity to renew economic ties between the two regions and that in 2019, during two summer months, about 7,500 passengers from this part of Serbia landed at Tivat airport, which clearly indicates interest in vacationing in Boka. It was said in the conversation that the airport taxes and costs at the Tivat airport will be stimulating this year, and the meeting was also attended by the director of the company "Airports of Serbia" Mihajlo Zdravkovic and councilors of the City of Nis Nenad Stankovic and Adriana Anastasov.
