The renovated Arsenal FC stadium officially opened
The President of the Municipality of Tivat Željko Komnenović, the President of the Football Association of Montenegro (FSCG) Dejan Savićević, the President of the Management Board of the "Arsenal" Football Club from Tivat Dejan Kandić and the Executive Director of the company Adriatic Marinas - Porto Montenegro David Margason, today officially opened the completely renovated main stadium of FC " Arsenal" and a newly built facility within the stadium, with a total area of 250 square meters.
"This is an infrastructure object that has been expected for decades, which Arsenal, as one of the oldest football clubs in Montenegro, deserves," Komnenović pointed out and thanked FSCG for helping to realize the project. "Football in Arsenal trains over 300 children, which guarantees the perspective and duration of this club", said the president of the municipality and announced the installation of floodlights at the main stadium in the fall, which will complete the infrastructure of this sports club.
"The football association, both in Tivat and in other parts of Montenegro, is trying to invest as much as possible in infrastructure. We invested almost half a million euros in this project. In the earlier period, we invested in lighting on the auxiliary field. I am glad that football has woken up in Tivat", said FSCG president Dejan Savićević and wished "Arsenal" great football success in the coming period.
"Today we are playing a match of the First Montenegrin League, for the first time on our field, on a new grass surface, in new auxiliary facilities, and that makes us very happy and proud" - said Dejan Kandić on behalf of the club's management. Kandić reminded that a new grass base was laid on the entire surface of the field, lines were marked, a new drainage system and a watering system were installed.
"We as the club management will not stop at this. Our wish is to have floodlights on the main field and club rooms for the younger categories by the beginning of the next season. We hope for further success because the results are a guarantee of further development of the club", said Kandić and thanked the FSCG for its support since the Association is responsible for about 80% of the total investment.
The stadium has new stands with a capacity of 600 seats, as well as a VIP box and a special box for journalists and television broadcasts of matches. A completely new auxiliary facility of 250 m2 was built, which houses the changing rooms, bathrooms, the so-called press room, and rooms for delegate judges and coaches. The total value of the investment is €800,000, and the investors are the Football Association of Montenegro, the Municipality of Tivat and FC "Arsenal".
David Margason, the first man of the Adriatic Marinas - Porto Montenegro company, Arsenal's main sponsor, participated in the opening of the renovated Arsenal FC stadium. "We are pleased that we have the opportunity to help the development of Tivat sports and to invest in the further development of Arsenal FC." We are looking forward to the future sporting success of this club", said Margason and announced the opening of the new "Siro Boka Place" hotel next year, which will be focused on sports and wellness facilities. "Our intention is to link the activities of the club with these contents in some way", he added.
