At yesterday’s third meeting of the Municipal Operational Team for the preparation and coordination of the EU – Western Balkans Summit, the competent authorities adopted a series of recommendations and guidelines aimed at ensuring the best possible organization of the city’s functioning, while respecting all security protocols.

Citizens of Tivat may expect that in the period from 2:00 PM on June 4 until the late evening hours of June 5, intermittent complete traffic suspensions will be in force on the Adriatic Highway through Tivat, from the Airport to the city centre. During the passage of the Summit delegations, the main road will be completely closed to all forms of traffic, including pedestrian traffic. During traffic suspensions, the police will provide escorts in emergency situations, primarily in cases of urgent medical assistance.

Parking in Arsenalska Street will be closed from June 2 to June 6, while traffic in Arsenalska and Istarska Streets will be restricted from 8:00 AM on June 4 until 10:00 PM on June 5.

With regard to traffic at Tivat Airport, the recommendation for departing passengers is to arrive at the Airport as early as possible.

The Tivat Bus Station will, in communication with transport service providers, ensure that intercity and international bus transport is adapted to the entire event. Certain interruptions in the functioning of public city and suburban transport are also expected, due to the inability to operate according to regular schedules in line with traffic suspensions on the main road.

Traffic on the Kamenari – Lepetani ferry line will be suspended in accordance with suspensions on the main road. In the period from midnight on June 3 until 9:00 PM on June 5, the entry and departure of vessels from Porto Montenegro marina will be suspended, while maritime traffic will also be restricted in the wider aquatorium area around the protected zone.

The Porto Montenegro settlement will be closed to visitors on June 4 and 5, with the exception of the Boka Place complex, which will remain open and accessible to the public.

The President of the Municipality of Tivat will adopt a decision on modified working hours for local administration bodies and companies founded by the Municipality of Tivat. Consenquently, on Thursday, June 4, the Municipality of Tivat will operate until 12:00 PM, while Friday, June 5, will be a non-working day. All services and bodies necessary for the functioning of the city and the implementation of the event will continue to operate without interruption.

The Operational Team recommends that business entities, bearing in mind the extraordinary circumstances, organize their work appropriately, including shortened working hours on June 4 and the possibility of remote work on June 5.

Operating hours for businesses within the Porto Montenegro settlement will be restricted, and all tenants and premises users have already been advised of the imposed limitations. There will be no operating restrictions for businesses at Pine or in the narrower city centre.

During the event, the Municipal Police of Tivat will receive support from colleagues from Budva, Bar and Herceg Novi, and will therefore have a larger number of officers, vehicles, motorcycles and specialized tow trucks at their disposal.

The Municipal Utility Company of Tivat is already acting in accordance with the defined guidelines, and in the coming days activities are planned regarding the arrangement of the city, including mowing the areas alongside the main road and the installation of Summit and European Union markings.
