Tivat has joined a global initiative to improve energy efficiency

During 2021, the Municipality of Tivat procured a total of 121 energy efficient LED lamps, in order to replace traditional lamps in the administrative building of the Municipality. Through this activity, the entire lighting in the administrative building of the Municipality of Tivat was achieved by using efficient LED lamps, which have a very significant positive effect on energy saving and environmental protection compared to traditional lamps that were previously used for lighting. In addition to the above, the Municipality of Tivat has carried out a complete servicing and replacement of filters on devices and individual heaters, which is planned to be an integral part of regular maintenance in the future. In order to continuously work on increasing the level of energy efficiency, the Secretariat for Spatial Planning, as a processor, has drafted a proposal for the Energy Efficiency Improvement Program of the Municipality of Tivat for the period from 2021 to 2023, which plans a number of measures. preparation of technical documentation for the implementation of energy efficiency projects and implementation of measures to improve energy efficiency determined by detailed energy audits of facilities owned by the Municipality of Tivat. In addition to the above, and in order to create preconditions for the implementation of Article 96 of the Law on Energy, a Draft Decision on Amendments to the Decision on Construction of Auxiliary Facilities in the Municipality of Tivat was prepared. Article 119 of the Law on Spatial Planning and Construction of Facilities determines photovoltaic panels for the production of electricity from renewable sources, with a power of up to 10 kW, on the roof of the basic or other auxiliary facility. The Law on Amendments to the Law on Energy ("Official Gazette of Montenegro", No. 82/20) through the amendment of Article 96 allows the end customer to produce energy for their own needs, inter alia, from renewable energy sources. As a local government that has paved its way in the field of energy efficiency, the Municipality of Tivat has been selected to support the development of the Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) within the activities of the project "EU for Energy Transition" "Covenant of Mayors in the Western Balkans and Turkey." The main result of this process is the preparation of a comprehensive, ambitious and applicable Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) which will serve as the main strategic document and guideline for sustainable development of the local community. The goal of SECAP is to introduce long-term sustainable development of local communities into the mainstream and to support national efforts to mitigate (adapt) and adapt (adapt) to climate change in a concrete and effective way at the community level.
