Tivat Secures €44,500 to Improve Waste Management and Environmental Protection
Funding secured through the Pardubice Region International Development Cooperation Support Programme / Czech Republic /
The Pardubice Region has approved €44,500 in funding for a Municipality of Tivat project aimed at improving waste management and environmental protection.
In June this year, the Municipality of Tivat applied for funding for a project involving the procurement of semi-underground waste containers, containers for the collection and transport of green waste, and reverse vending machines, under the International Development Cooperation Support Programme in the Partner Regions of the Pardubice Region.
The grant will be awarded in accordance with the Programme rules and the terms and conditions to be defined in the Grant Agreement. The total value of the project is approximately €90,000. In line with the Programme rules, half of the project costs will be covered by the approved grant, while the remaining half has been allocated in the Municipality of Tivat budget.
The approval of the funding represents an important step towards improving Tivat’s waste management system and marks a continuation of cooperation between the Municipality of Tivat and the Pardubice Region. This partnership was formalised through the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Pardubice Region, Žabljak and Tivat in May this year.
The project is particularly significant as its implementation forms part of the Municipality of Tivat’s broader activities aimed at improving the municipal waste management system and strengthening environmental protection.
During 2026, the Municipality of Tivat also initiated the preparation of the Local Municipal and Non-Hazardous Construction Waste Management Plan for the 2026–2029 Period, which aims to define future priorities for the development and improvement of the waste management system at the local level.
Cooperation with the Pardubice Region represents an important example of international partnership and creates opportunities for further joint activities, exchange of experience and the development of new projects focused on sustainable development, environmental protection and improving the quality of life of citizens.
