Members of the Municipal Operational Team for the Preparation and Coordination of the EU–Western Balkans Summit expressed great satisfaction with the way the entire event was organized and implemented. The Operational Team met today to evaluate the activities carried out on the ground and identify areas that could be further improved in similar circumstances in the future.

“All services, authorities, companies and individuals involved in organizing the event at the local level demonstrated a remarkable degree of responsibility, efficiency and commitment. I sincerely thank each and every one of you. We have shown that we are capable of meeting even the most complex requirements of a high-level diplomatic event such as this Summit,” said the Mayor of Tivat, Željko Komnenović.

He also conveyed the gratitude of the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, to the members of the Operational Team for their contribution to the successful organization of the Summit.

“What is particularly important to me is that our citizens were informed in a timely manner, that there was no dissatisfaction and, on the contrary, that our fellow citizens recognized the significance of the event, demonstrated exceptional responsibility and expressed satisfaction with the way everything was organized. I thank them for that,” Komnenović emphasized.

The Head of the Tivat Security Department, Mitar Tadić, also thanked the citizens of Tivat for their cooperation and understanding. He expressed satisfaction with the cooperation of all services, which responded promptly and professionally. The Police and Municipal Police acted in a coordinated manner at all locations, while the Municipality of Tivat sent letters of appreciation to the municipalities of Budva, Bar and Herceg Novi for the assistance provided in personnel and equipment.

“We will see the full effects of the Summit in the months ahead. I am especially pleased to hear that Tivat has become a symbol of Montenegro’s accelerated European path. We successfully presented to Europe our greatest values – our destination, natural beauty and our people,” said the Municipality Manager of Tivat, Ivona Petrović, who was also a member of the national coordination body for the organization of the Summit.

Members of the Operational Team agreed that the event will have a significant positive impact on the promotion of Montenegro and Tivat as a tourist destination.

The Director of Tivat Airport, Ivan Rakočević, also expressed satisfaction with the successful implementation of the event, noting that the airport handled 30 diplomatic aircraft on the day of the Summit while maintaining regular and uninterrupted passenger air traffic operations. No passengers missed their scheduled flights, and the process of directing passengers to the water terminal was completed without any difficulties.

All staff members of the Secretariat for Inspection and Municipal Supervision were deployed on 4 and 5 June, with particular focus on the area surrounding Tivat Airport.

All planned activities of the Municipal Utility Company were carried out in accordance with temporary traffic restrictions. Increased operational activity was recorded in the Tivat Airport area during the Summit. The Protection and Rescue Service remained on full alert throughout the event, with no incidents recorded and no interventions required.

The Parking Service completed all necessary preparations in a timely manner and made its resources available to the event organizers. As a result, the company also assessed that the Summit had been organized successfully and without difficulties.

Desko Portić, Director of Operations at Porto Montenegro, stated that everything at the venue proceeded according to plan and that he had the honour of speaking with Summit participants, who expressed great satisfaction with what they had seen and experienced in Montenegro. Numerous compliments were received by the Regent Porto Montenegro Hotel, where the Summit took place.
