Coordination Team for monitoring the tourist season meeting held at the municipality building
Tivat Municipality President Željko Komnenović today held the third meeting of the Coordination Team for monitoring the tourist season, and among the main topics were issues of maintaining communal order and cleanliness of the city, city and maritime traffic, and the activities of local and state inspection authorities.
According to the data of the Tourist Organization of Tivat, 8,882 tourists are staying in the city today, which is 4% more compared to 2021, i.e. 3% less than the realized tourist traffic from the same period in 2019. So far, income from the residence tax is at the approximate level compared to 2021. These data were announced by the director of TO Tivat, Danica Banjević, stating that this year's tourist season is mainly characterized by "last-minute" reservations, and that, similar to the previous year, the overall level of success of the season will depend on the upcoming period in August.
The head of the Tivat Security Department, Ivan Rakočević, said that the increased transit of passengers leads to evident traffic jams on the main highway on the entire coast, and that patrols on the ground are taking all actions in their power to regulate traffic in the area of Tivat. Special attention was paid to the topic of maritime traffic, as well as the increasingly pronounced problem of illegal parking in several locations, especially in Seljanovo and Lepetani, and more intensive joint activities of the Tivat OB and the Directorate for Inspection Affairs were also announced. The special vehicle "spider" now works in two shifts, and according to the director of "Parking service" Slaviša Ognjanović, an increased number of parking users has been recorded, so the current income from charging for parking spaces in some locations has surpassed the level from 2019.
Since the beginning of the month, the Secretariat for Inspection and Communal Supervision has issued misdemeanor orders in the amount of 5,000 euros for non-compliance with the ban on construction works, as well as 8,000 euros for not having work contracts and tax certificates for cargo vehicles. Secretary Jelena Šćekić said that illegally parked vehicles are regularly sanctioned at the location in Lepetani, across from the "Bankina" hospitality facility, as well as near the "Plavi Horizonti" swimming pool. Coordinator of the Administration of Inspections for Tivat municipality, sanitary inspector Karmela Mujičić, announced that since the beginning of July, 250 inspections have been carried out in Tivat and 130 misdemeanor warrants have been issued during that time, in the total amount of about 60 thousand euros.
In the previous period, the utility company Tivat collected and removed a 10% larger amount of waste than in July last year, and several new trucks were ordered for garbage collection and removal of bulky waste. Director Vučeta Stanišić said that some facilities in the city, despite numerous warnings, do not respect the communal order, which significantly complicates the work of the company during the summer. He also stated that next week the works on the arrangement of the new children's playground on Seljanov will be completed. Director of the Wastewater Treatment Plant, Miljan Marković, announced that for the first time since 2016, all three basins of the plant were put into operation at the same time, and according to the Director of Water and Sewerage, Alen Krivokapić, the water supply in Tivat is regular and water consumption at the level of last year.
The Tivat Protection Service announced that the fire season is proceeding peacefully for now and without serious incidents. Due to the increase in the number of covid patients, the Tivat health center adjusted the working hours of the covid clinic, which now works in two shifts - from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The director of the Health Center, Dr. Danica Stevović, said that between 50 and 60 examinations are performed in that clinic every day, and that in most cases the clinical picture is mild. On average, around 25 PCR and 30 antigen tests are performed daily.
