Reception for Miloš Karadžić, the member of the European Tennis Association
Today, the Mayor of the Municipality of Željko Komnenović hosted the Director of the Tennis Association of Montenegro, Miloš Karadžić, who was recently elected to the eight-member board of the European Tennis Association for a four-year term.
"Tivat has experienced having its representative on the European board of the world's most popular individual sport. Exceptional qualities are needed for such recognition. I am happy and grateful for this new piece of good sports news, and this is just another proof that effort and dedication in sports pay off," said the city's leader. Congratulating Karadžić on his great success, he emphasized once again the importance of investing in sports infrastructure and highlighted that the construction of a large sports complex would represent a new development opportunity for Tivat. "Our vision in that regard is ambitious but realistic. The Municipality of Tivat already allocates significant funds for sports annually, and our city can boast numerous successful athletes. When children and young people are provided with the necessary space for gathering and play, the results are quickly visible. Tennis, which has a long tradition and roots in Tivat, deserves such a space," Komnenović stated.
Karadžić highlighted that Montenegro has, for the first time, its representative in the board of the European Tennis Association, thereby gaining a significant opportunity to present its issues. "Membership in the board is a great recognition for the work of the Tennis Association of Montenegro, which has been successfully organizing numerous international tournaments for years. Among stiff competition, we have created an atmosphere for the voice of a small country to be heard."
The meeting discussed forms of cooperation, as well as the possibility for Tivat to host one of the tournaments organized by the Montenegrin Tennis Association.
Also present at the reception in the mayor's office was the Secretary for Social Activities in the Municipality of Tivat, Olivera Mišković Vidojević.
