Works on the construction of the MR2 road, 605 meters long, which is a continuation of the already built MR 1 road and its extension to the Luštica Bay project complex in Radovići, started yesterday / Monday, June 21, 2021 /. The construction of MR2 also includes the construction of a roundabout.
The works are performed by “Civil engineer” doo from Podgorica, and the value of the works is € 1,149,524.93. The contract stipulates that the works will last for 300 days from the day the contractor was introduced to the work.
"Since this is an infrastructure project of importance for the Municipality of Tivat and Montenegro, works on the construction of MR2 will be carried out during the summer months" - said the Mayor of Tivat Zeljko Komnenovic and reminded: "The contract for the construction of this road was signed in early October last year, however, the funds that the state paid into the account of the municipality to build the road were spent inappropriately by the previous administration. We have borrowed from a commercial bank to fulfill this obligation to the state and the investor. I expect the works to be completed on time. "
It is planned that the continuation of this road will pass partly through the area where the Luštica Bay project is being developed and connect Tivat with the administrative border with the municipality of Herceg Novi. The construction of MR1 and MR2 completely relieved the regional road Tivat - Radovići (coast of Đurašević and Bogišić) and enabled quick and easy access to the Blue Horizons, ie the settlement of Luštica Bay.
